Why Migrate?

If any of the following frustrates you:

Mixpanel can help you. We understand that the effort to switch tools comes with inherent risk - you need to replace existing workflows and habits amongst your team. Mixpanel makes this transition as simple as possible whilst optimizing for time to value.

You will get a migration and onboarding package with our Customer Success team included at no charge as part of your Mixpanel Enterprise Plan. Based on our experience working with thousands of other customers, we’ll help you create and execute a tailor-made migration plan to have you building reports in Mixpanel within weeks (or faster, pending your resource availability). We will also work with you ongoing to address any pain points around data trust, data governance, or any other thing blocking you from getting full value from Mixpanel.

What Will it Take?

Our team of experts will help guide you through the migration process. The migration consists of 4 key phases:

  1. Data Cutover and Historical Import
  2. End User Change Management
  3. Data Governance and Implementation Optimization
  4. Ongoing Success Planning

A typical migration takes ~30 days: 1 sprint (1-3 weeks) to migrate data and another sprint (2-3 weeks) to move end users over to Mixpanel.

1. Data Cutover and Historical Import

The goal of this phase is to bring the data you are already sending to Amplitude into Mixpanel, giving you a familiar dataset to acclimate yourself to Mixpanel’s UI.

2. End User Change Management

The goal of this phase is to switch user’s habits from Amplitude to Mixpanel through targeted workshops with each team.
